27th Southeast Woman To Woman Conference

A Conference for the Sober Alcoholic Woman with Al-Anon Participation.

The Southeast Woman to Woman conference began as weekend workshops in California, where members generously shared information and ideas. The first midwest Woman to Woman Seminar was held in Chicago, Illinois in 1984. Over the years, the event rotated throughout various locations in the midwest. Then in 1988, spearheaded by Eugertha Mcleon, a group of women from Harlem, New York chartered a bus and attended that year’s workshop in Columbus, Ohio. It was there that a sober alcoholic woman expressed a desire to hold a similar event on the east coast.

The first Northeastern Woman to Woman Seminar was successfully held October 20-22, 1989 in Tarrytown, NY. When Mcleon relocated to Richmond, VA, many women encouraged her to bring the phenomenal conference to the southeastern region. A committee was formed and the 1st Southeastern Woman to Woman Seminar was held September 27-29, 1993 in Richmond, VA. The rest is history.
